Open Internet Explorer by clicking the icon in your desktop or start menu.

Visit google by typing http://www.google.com in the address field of your browser.

In the upper right hand corner of the browser, click the down arrow on the blue house icon on the menu bar.

Click "Add or Change Home Page.." from the drop down.

Select "Use this webpage as your only home page" from the 3 choices and click the "Yes" button.
  Note : Google.com should now be set as your home page.
