Open Word by double left clicking the icon on the desktop or start menu.

In the top menu, click the AutoFormat icon, which should open the AutoFormat dialog box.

Select "AutoFormat now", or "AutoFormat and review each change".
  Note : "AutoFormat now" automatically formats everything at once. "AutoFormat and review each change" allows you to review each change individually.

Click on "Options" for additional options; you can set to determine what Word changes when it formats the document.

Select the changes you want Word to format and click "OK".

Back on the AutoFormat box, click "OK". Your Word doc should now be formatted.
