How to clear search history in Internet Explorer 9

Objective / Info: Learn how to clear the search history that is stored in the Internet Explorer 9 web browser. Any toolbars you have installed may have separate search history that this process will not clear.

Click the desktop icon or start menu icon to launch IE 9.

In the upper right hand corner of the browser, click the icon that looks like a small gear which is the "Tools" button.

Click the "Safety" button.

Click "Delete Browsing History".

Select the "History" checkbox.

Click the "Delete" button

After a few seconds, depending upon the amount of data in the history, a box should disappear. Click the x icon to the right to close the box.
  Note : This notice should appear at the bottom of the browser window.

This task should now be complete. If not, review and repeat the steps as needed. Submit any questions using the section at the bottom of this page.
