How to activate a comcast DVR converter

Objective / Info: How to activate a Comcast converter online. In this example a defective converter was exchanged for a working converter at a Comcast location and then activated over the Internet.

Open your browser and visit digitalnow.comcast.com and click the "I cant find either number" link.

Complete the phone number and zip code fields and click the "Continue" button.

Type in the answer to the question.

Click the "Activate" button in the "Activate Digital devices Ive already ordered" box.

Select the correct converter by matching the serial number on the screen with the serial number on the converter. Then place a check in the box beneath the list of converters. Then click the "Activate" button.
  Note : Make sure the serial number of the converter you select matches the correct number on the bottom of the converter.

The activation should be completed. Though Comcast states it could take up to 45 minutes, our experience was an immediate change of display on the converter to 4 number 8's, followed by the converter powering off. After powering it back it, the converter was activated and working.
  Note : Click the "Exit" button.
