How to use BitLocker to unlock a hard drive

Model / Product: BitLocker

Version: Windows 7 Ultimate

Objective / Info: Unlock a hard drive that was encrypted with BitLocker.

Open BitLocker by clicking the Windows logo in the lower left hand corner of the desktop, then click "Control panel"

Click the "BitLocker" button.

Select the drive that you want to unlock. Encrypted drives will show an icon of a padlock and a key.
  Note : For this example the 2nd hard drive partition that does not contain the operating system files will be selected.

Click the "Turn off BitLocker" button next to the correct drive.

The unlocking / decrypting process should begin.

You may also get a notification from the system tray.

Your drive should now be unlocked. The word "Off" should appear to the right of the unlocked drive. This task should be complete.
  Note : Click close on the popup box and close the window that shows the drives.
