Open excel by double left clicking the icon on the desktop or start menu or open the document you want to work on.

Click the row containing the column header that you want to make diagonal.

Click the orientation button.

Click the"Angle Counterclockwise" option.
  Note : Alternately, you can click the"Angle clockwise" option.

If you can see all of the text in your column header then you are done.

  Note : If not, click the "Format" button in the upper right hand corner of Excel and select the "Column Auto Fit Row Height" option.
