Turn the ‘Auto Archive’ ON by clicking on ‘Options’ under the ‘File’ menu.
Note :
In Outlook 2010, Auto Archive option is not enabled by default. You have to do it manually.

As shown below, you will see the ‘Outlook Options’ window. Now click ‘Advanced’ and then ‘AutoArchive Settings’ button.

In the AutoArchive window, check the box adjacent to ‘Run AutoArchive every’. Note :
Make sure you do not select the ‘Permanently delete old items’ radio button, as doing so mails will not be archived and will be permanently deleted immediately upon reaching expiry.

Choose the Auto Archive settings as per your preference and need. Once you are done with the selection, click ‘Ok’ to complete.

You can select how often the AutoArchive feature should run, should Outlook prompt you before running AutoArchive every time or not, where should the items be moved, should Archive folder be visible i
