Objective / Info: Create a shooting start animation using PowerPoint 2010.

1
Open PowerPoint by clicking your desktop or start menu icon.

2
Click the "Insert" tab from the menu. Then click "Shapes" from the sub menu.
3
You should see long list of shapes to choose from. For this guide we will use the star shape.

4
After making your selection the list should disappear and you should see a cross-hair instead of your usual mouse pointer
5
Left click and drag the shape onto the slide.
6
While the star shape is select. Click on the "Animations" tab.
7
Select the animation option from the menu.
8
Select the bottom arrow in the animations section.
9
A larger box of options should appear. Select "Lines" in the "Motion paths" section.
10
You should see a preview of a brief animation that works but doesn't cover the entire slide. Your star shape should have a dotted line connected to it.
11
If you want the animation to cover the entire slide click on the red end point of the dotted line and drag it to the top lower right hand corner of the slide.
Note : You can drag the end of the dotted line anywhere you would like the star to go.

12
Your slide should look like this if you dragged the dotted line to the lower right hand corner of the slide.
13
Press the "Preview" button in the upper left hand corner to see a preview or the animation.
14
If you are satisfied with the animation, make any other edits to your slide that you want and save it.
