Look at your desktop for an icon with the title "PowerPoint" The version number may be included in the title. Note :

If you still cant find a version number then open PowerPoint and click on the question mark icon in the upper right hand corner PowerPoint.4
The version number should be displayed in the box that opens afterwords. Note :
If you do not see this proceed to the next step.

Look in the lower right hand corner. If the status reads offline, you will need to change it to "Connected to Office Online."8
