Under "Auto Correct Options", click on the "Auto Corrections Options" button, which should make the "AutoCorrect" box pop up.

Click on "AutoFormat As You Type"; under "Apply As You Type", uncheck the "Automatic Numbered Lists" checkbox, then click "OK". Note :
Click "OK" again when returned to the "Word Options" box.
