How to use shapes in PowerPoint

Objective / Info: Add several shapes to a PowerPoint slide.

Open PowerPoint by clicking your desktop or start menu icon.

You need to remove the text boxes from the default slide. Right click the thumbnail icon in the left column and select "Layout" on the menu.

  Note : You can also select and delete the two text boxes.

Click "Blank" on the "Layout" menu.

Pick a spot on the slide where you want your shape to appear and click and drag until the shape reaches the desired size.
  Note : If you do not see the cross-hair then you do not have the shape selected. Repeat step 5.

Click "Insert" on the menu.

Click on the "Shapes" option.

Select the star shape.

  Note : You can choose any shape the you want.

You should see a cross-hair icon on your slide.
  Note : The cross-hair is inside the red circle.

You should now have the shape you choose on your slide.

You can now make any other additions that you would like to make to the slide and save the file.
