From your Word document, click file.

Click Options.

Click Proofing

Under "Auto Correct Options" click "Auto Corrections Options" button.

In the dialog box, click "Auto Format As You Type" tab.

Under "Apply As You Type", uncheck "Automatic Numbered Lists" box. Then click OK.
Note :
Click OK again, when returned to the dialog box.
