Objective / Info: Repair an Internet connection on a computer. This event can be used to restore a lost connection to the Internet, a router or local area network that is connected using a Ethernet cable.

In the lower right hand corner of the desktop, right click the network icon.

Left click on the "Open Network and Sharing Center" option.

Click the "Change Adapter Settings" option.

Locate the connection that you want to repair.
  Note : There may be multiple icons as this example shows. Use your best judgement to find the correct one. In this example, there is only one.

You should see a pop up Windows Diagnostics box and some messages that may change to quickly to read as the repair takes place.

You should see a pop up Windows Diagnostics box with a final message stating that the repair is completed or there was no problem found as in this example. Click the "Close" button

This task should now be complete. If not, review and repeat the steps as needed. Submit any questions using the section at the bottom of this page.
